CONCEPT:
LOOKING FOR SPOKEN WORD / SLAM POETRY ARTISTS!!
THEY WILL INTRO THE COMMERCIAL WITH THEIR OWN LYRICS ABOUT BASKETBALL + INSPIRATION. WITH MENTIONING OF DUNKING AND WHAT THAT MEANS TO THE POET. THE NBA, ALL STARS, ROOKIES, ETC.
ALL AGES (youth, teens, adults, seniors) / ALL ETHNICITY / MALE / FEMALE
Artist does not have to be obsessed with basketball but can make it into their own meaning. Also, if people are in groups it they can perform together. we have sample scripts if needed for inspiration or to use instead of writing own

CONCEPT
For the true fan, basketball is the Spark. It’s beyond a sport – it’s a passion, a religion, a reason, an excuse, a comfort, an inspiration.
We have to find the artists with the freshest voices who know how to get in your face and
put it out there, and who at the same time we recognize as our friends, neighbors, brothers, sisters, or selves. Everyone has to feel real – we have to believe that they believe their words. Has to be honest. We can’t just hold a casting call – we have to seek these people out. Getting into the spoken word culture to find the poets who are the most respected by their peers, the top of the game.
The words, the delivery, the body language – has to be powerful, has to be strong. Not in an aggressive way – but in a way that can’t be ignored. The new Mos Def, Saul Williams or Sage Francis.
I really want to find a range of voices that span across gender, age, class, race.
Their words may share the same truth or mes- sage, but how they say it should reflect the diversity of the sport and its fans. For the performances, we can create a rhythm with their words – each person with their own cadence. It’s about knowing when to keep things a little more understated and con-
trolled, or when to let them explode with energy. The best of these artists create an arc with their words - they tell a story in a way that loses unnecessary adjectives and leaves you with the only the words that matter. These artists can take a string of only a few words and combine them in a way that means something totally unique – that makes us literally hear in a different way. Plays on words, alliteration, controlling their rhythm when they deliver a single word surrounded by silence, or when they string words
together so fast you lose the meaning, but find the feeling.

Kid Sensation a.k.a. Xola is very busy. He has children, he is the youth director for the Boys and Girls Club and I don't know if he is available. I also have children and work two jobs to provide for my family, so I am very busy. It is still worth a try. We have the perfect song for this.......just listen.
If you like it, I will call Xola and see if it is possible we fly out.
