I had no idea this even existed until I was on SpeakEasy Cafe at the beginning of April. I am celebrating by doing everything I can to keep my gift going and keep it in tact!!

In re of poetry :

Poetry is a complexion without a skin to encase it, a language that is so ancient that even if it were to become extinct that it would'nt be forgotten. It would still linger on the lips of old men and women who once spoke it's sacred incantations, would still shine in the curios eyes of a new born. Be silent and still be loud enough for evreyone to hear all at the same time. It would be a blessing, like praise God in a church or a Mother F***** on a street corner, for whom ever/what ever/where ever/it would be..... poetry.

Suicide

Her name's payne
Yeah I know her well
You see back when I was a kid
we dated in high school
It didn't last
Cause I was left with the decision to leave her or tell her that I sat in the room for bout an hour
Contemplating sucking on the hollow end of mom's revolver
Something I couldn't do cause she hurts enough as is
Now I told you that to tell you this
She came back to see me
Just recently to tell me in two different voices
"Its not fair!"
And I can't be mad cause honestly
She's right
I mean logicly
His first multiplied by one from daddy's bloodline equals depressed
Or you can make the math simple and add the two but the sum will always be disrespect
The problem is I'm responsible
I'm to blame
Cause if it wasn't for that night
He would've never been born in these flames
And she
She would be finishing chasing her true dream
Not settling with me while I chase mine
So I drop to my knees in church
Cause the things going on in my mind
And payne
She's not knowing
And frankly I perfer it that way
cause my mind
Is sending me on a trip
A trip back through time
got me rethinking sucking on the hollow end of a gun again
Got me wanting to end it again
but the thought of him having to be told who his daddy was won't let me
Lord I'm sick
If they knew the thoughts in my head.......
I'm sick
Far past anything anyone short of your hand can fix
I need help
Cause it hurts to see her cry
So all I can do is just get high
Cause it's so much easier to just get by than it is to deal with this, payne
Like I said earlier she hurts enough as is
And I'm not the first one to have her feeling like this
The thing is I thought I was special
I thought I had it in me to make her happy
Shit
With every "I love you" it seems I get two "it's not fairs"
Or how the way she sees it, she's the only one making sacrafices
Or how just saying I love you ain't the type of person she is
So I'm left with the vices to deal with
Its not fair
The role of atlus has been given to me
Frankly
I'm not strong enough to carry the world on my shoulders
The same struggle I've had for years
If I take the easy way out
Whose heart will payne visit
Who will she bring to tears with the news of my expired life
I wonder what my son will be like
Thing is I'm faithful to payne
So instead of taking the easy way out
I'll stick it out
Stay around for the ride
Cause lord knows how hurt she'd be if I went ahead and fucked her sister
Suicide
Click........BANG!!!

Poverty

You can hear me perform this piece on my site please enjoy

hold on to this inspiration
while I go check on a conversation
that I was having prior to your salutation

Hold on to this love for me
While I publicly
scream at the top of my lungs to this country
to find out where they be

Hold on to this rationalization
While upon completion
of this creation
that I intend on releasing upon this entire nation

Open up your eyes for me
And explain why poverty
Is at the bottom of your list
Like it doesn't exist

When is life gonna change for them
Who is gonna complain for them
And make sure things begin to happen

Because I'm tried of giving out change
These 2,3,4 dollars ain't gonna change
The situation I see outside my window pane

So I walk outside and ask him why

Why do you think these cars pass you by and stare
And why don't these people care
And why cant they relinquish their hand from that dime
Or at least give you 10 minutes of their time
To bless you with a little piece of mind
I swear this should be crime

There needs to be a police officer on every corner you go
making people roll slow
And at least acknowledge the fact that I already know
That poverty is a disease

And it has infected our streets
Our towns
Our Cities
Our nation
Our world

and the funny thing about this disease
Is that its curable
But nobody is looking for the antidote

And why

Because shades and blinds
cover our windows
So we don't have to look outside
when the wind blows
So we can look the other way when the temp goes
way below zero
And the rain froze
Cause its not your problem
when your eyes cant see but your brain knows
Then they flash images across the TV of these souls
Broken hearted stumped in the ground with their woes
And you flip the channel so quick
Like I cant believe they are trying to impose
On you watching for the fifth time the same shows

Poverty is an epidemic
But ignorance glows
brighter then the high beams on Mr. Senator's Rolls

I cant believe that they're sold
on the way were living life
there selling death like it gold

And everybody is not a millionaire
I understand that
But everybody has got the ability to make in impact
Whenever you need something you think your getting it gift wrapped
But soon as they as for some help you say get back

We eat food when we want to
We throw food away when we don't want it
We by watches and rings just to flaunt it
And when we get to the afterlife
I sure hope you gotta plan
Man!
Cause I don't think God is gonna understand man
And you know where your gonna be knee deep standing
In the fires of hell wishing that your were a little less demanding

Poverty is a disease
But unkindness is a death sentence

Perhaps thats were we need to focus our attention
Because if people were more kind
Then they would be more open minded
To help out those who are stranded
Left bare naked and abandon
And we can begin to change the land when
No child goes to bed empty handed

Poverty is a disease

But unkindness

Is

A

Death

Sentence

My offering for poetry month

**An Ode To Prose**
(Ode/song/haiku/poem/story)

And so I sing…
Can you see with eyes that look
Beyond the views…
Of those that chose to hide
Between the pews…
Claims remain the same
When you are gone…
So I sing what you should bring
Within a song…

Have you ever done works
That will last for forever
Even beyond death.

Or will you be gone
And your works all forgotten
With your life’s last breath.

What goals do you have
Beyond acquisitions call
To get all you can?

Be a man of works
That speaks after your life’s gone
Above works of man.

And so I sing…
Can you see with eyes that look
Beyond the views…
Of those that chose to hide
Between the pews…
Claims remain the same
When you are gone…
So I sing what you should bring
Within a song…

Poets
Bring us words en masse
By masters of the word.
Take mine eyes that have been blind
And mine ears that never heard.
Let me watch through your mind
As your prose extends through all time.
Let me feel
Through your soul
As if your spirit were really mine.
Take me on journeys of learning
Experiencing
And decision
Scribe with heartfelt passions
Rhythmic skills
And precision.
Touch my heart, my mind, and my very soul.
But be true to yourself
For once darkness is lifted
The tale will unfold.

The choices are yours to decide.
Like a mythological story of olde.
The tale of Apollo and Cassandra.
The latter being Priam’s daughter.
A prophetess who captured the sun god’s heart.
As a gift for giving herself to Apollo, he bestowed upon her the gift of prophesy.
But Cassandra, being full of guile, reneged on her commitment. Apollo in turn asked for but one kiss. When it was given, he spat into her mouth. Though he did not take back his gift. Cassandra was cursed to forevermore prophesy in vain. No one would ever believe her…
for all time.

And so I sing…
Can you see with eyes that look
Beyond the views…
Of those that chose to hide
Between the pews…
Claims remain the same
When you are gone…
So I sing what you should bring
Within a song…
