As Poetry Workshop Instructor,
Divine created “Don’t Hold Your Tongue”, workshops that focus on performing the spoken word. It teaches the writer how to over come stage fright, practice voice projection and the art of verbal fasting. This is a technique that helps with clearing the mind and self discipline so the writer can eventually become conscious of what it is that they are writing about. It is expressed to the student that thoughts are food for the soul. Divine has taught her workshops in correctional facilities, high schools and universities.
Within the Community,
Divine makes her way into the hearts of many, by performing her spoken word for The Phoenix, Birthing Project, AIDS foundations, drug rehabilitation centers, Domestic Violence shelters, senior and youth community centers and homeless shelters.
