- My story begins over 60 years ago when Jose Bernardo Vazquezgomez first came to the United States, at the tender age of 17, as an exchange student he attended the University of Mississippi. His father to help with family business would later call him back to Mexico. Alas, the U.S. had not yet seen the last of Jose Bernardo, A few years after that, he returned to the U.S. with his wife. By 1963 they had 4 children and later that year by the flip of a coin he would relocate his family and business from Sierra Vista, Arizona to Columbia, S.C. This made Jose Bernardo one of the first coin - operated amusement entrepreneurs in the southeast. Chances are if you ever bought cigarettes from a machine or played an arcade game, 25 -hole bingo machine, poker machine, pinball game, pool table, jukebox or any other "stand -up coin- operated machine” between 1964 and 2000 you've probably seen some of his work. As for him and his wife, they taught their children how to speak English and Spanish along with a great education so that they would have a better chance at life in America. They are also one of the first Mexican families in S.C. living in the U.S. as legal citizens. I am the 1st of his 17 grandchildren.

I'm from Columbia, South Carolina. West Metropolis to be exact, for those that don't know. I am the last of a dying breed, a renaissance man of sorts. I'm an artist, writer, musician and Chef in my spare time. I started working in a kitchen when I was 16 to help with the bills and never looked back. I started at the bottom dishwashing and made it to the head chef position of a restaurant and there are many people that love my food, so I have no regrets about how I've made my living in the service industry. I currently work 45-50 hour workweeks and still find time for art. What can I say, I like my job because it pays the bills, but I love my art because it always reflects what I feel. I was state recognized as being gifted and talented in drama by age 12, I've had artwork submitted in the State Fair for my
high school, most recently I've spent the past 5yrs. working on the best artistic mediums I have to offer. Currently in the last 2 years I've been writing poetry to Electronica music that I produce myself. I am also a Prysmatic Dreams Artist and member of the New Word Order. **VIVA LOS SUENOS DE PRYSMATIC FAMILIA**

My Musical influences are in no particular order at all: Santana, STYX, Massive Attack, DJ Shadow, The Chemical Brothers, Zapp & Roger, Portishead, CurseGoBack, Gorillaz, Atom and his Package, & The Crystal Method.
As for spoken word my influences are: The Last Poets, Saul Williams, Talib Kwali, Jack Kerouac, SilDag, Maximus Parthas, Tribal Raine, Tavis Brunson, Anis Monjani, Derrick Brown, Mighty Mike
McGee, Georgia Me and many more.
Last but not least, My Art. I’ve been an artist since I was 8yrs old and I love all types of mediums. I must say though...pen and ink is my favorite. Some of my favorite artists are H.R. Giger, Todd Mcfarlane, Clive Barker, & BORIS

Last night became the first part of The Best Of Phoenix Tongue. Jotter Prophetic killed the evening with his presentation of Poetry with backdrop Music.
