- I am 28 and started writing about 3 years ago while still in the military. I love Poetry and utilize it as an outlet to all ranges of emotion and thoughts that lay deep in each of us. I say things that we need to hear in order to understand ourselves better. I also have a book of poetry out, I published it though autorhouse while in Iraq. The link is on here

New years Promises.
I promise to be a better man for me and all of mine,
I promise to live rightiously and treat all devine,
I promise to calm down on my drinking and smoking cause I know i am desecrating my temple,
I promise to avoid conflict and to remember to keep it purely simple,
I promise to keep the faith and to write at least once a week,
I promise to say what's on my mind and to not be so meek,
I promise to help others more and to be thankful for what it is I have,

Today I lost a friend of mine,
Why must the world be so unkind,
He passed not from an enemies fire,
We have been together for quite a while,
Left behind are a mother, a wife, and a child,
I know that we all live in sin,
I miss most his charming grin,
Many cried when they learned of this loss,
There are many questions left and we all know the cost,
My emotions are going completely insane,
The face remains we all play a very deadly game,
Now I lay in bed completely afraid to sleep,
