Oh my word...This is a super special day here at my house..Please help me welcome an incredibly talented artist known as Blak Cotton... Blak Cotton was born in Inglewood CA on July 5th 1982, but spent the prime years of his youth in Covina CA. Although he was always musically talented he did not start rapping until he got into high school. Blak Cotton at that time known as Mr Ace of Spades was part of a Hip Hop Group called the MAHD west which consisted of him Mr Ace, His older brother Mr Hayz and his cousin Mr Deceiver. Together the Mahd West recorded under their then producer Lil Rocking G who was originally part of Knights of the Turntable.. Later Blak Cotton ventured out on his own as each member of the Mahd West decided to work on solo projects. On occasions the MAHD West still record songs together. Blak Cotton spent a lot of time assisting several local CA rappers with writing and the delivery of their raps. In 2006 Black Cotton moved to Houston, TX with his Wife. In early 2007 Black Cotton ran into an old friend by the name of JReel of ODG Records. At that point Blak Cotton decided to work with ODG Records to put together his album which he is currently working on entiled,”Blak is the New Black”. Prior to that Blak Cotton will be appearing on the official ODG mixtape. Blak Cotton is in the process of setting up tour dated with JReel and other members of ODG Records.Epiphany

- Mother,writer,wife,friend,talker,listener,poetess....These are some of the things that describe me..It is difficult to paint a full picture of one's self and place it in a box. I was a musician for a very very long time,and by chance I began writing more and more poetry,it fed my soul and gave me an outlet to express my most intimate thoughts. I admit I am indeed a confessional writer,by no means polished,yet i am a work in progress. I published my first book last fall and I plan to write another later this year. I hope my words can spark something in others,be it their mind,soul, or body. I 'd like to leave a little piece of me behind when i go....and so I shall....
My debut album drops this summer 2009,"Soulflower" a collection of my spoken word pieces,I do hope ya'll will enjoy it. See ya then...
